Mehmet |
|
Jann Mehmet, Master in Science (by research); Dip. Applied
Science Acupuncture; Dip Chinese Herbal Medicine, is the founder
and Director of the Rozelle Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Centre and Fertility Health. Jann has been a Chinese medicine
practitioner for over twenty years. Her area of expertise
incorporates male and female infertility, miscarriage prevention,
pregnancy support, preparation and support of IVF cycles,
and general gynaecology and obstetrics.
Jann Mehmet's practice has been based in Balmain and Rozelle
since 1990, and in addition to her busy practice schedule,
in the last decade, Jann commenced formal clinical research
to encourage the development of Chinese medicine theory through
evidenced based medicine. Jann completed a randomised clinical
trial pilot study on sub fertile men in 2006. The successful
completion of this study has led to further writing and teaching
engagements, as well as further research projects at the Centre,
including documenting pregnancy rates using Chinese medicine
during natural pregnancy, IVF (frozen or fresh) and egg donor
cycles. Documenting preventing miscarriage using Chinese Medicine.
Documenting pregnancy rates in women over 40 after Chinese
Medicine treatment, couples with unexplained infertility and
the results after treating women with a history of PCOS (polycystic
ovary syndrome) or endometriosis.
Increasingly, Jann has become more concerned about the impact
of diet, lifestyle and environmental contaminants on health.
She has found that some of the most interesting fields to
highlight the effect on our health of environmental damage
are in male infertility, PCOS, endometriosis and teenagers
or young women with severe gynaecological complaints.
" Often we see men or women presenting with a history
of infertility which is their main concern, while at the same
time they have quite chronic and debilitating health complaints
such as frequent herpes attacks, severe excema or psoriasis,
chronic diarrhea, asthma, chest infections, sinusitis, thrush,
cystitis, anxiety, depression, exhaustion, loss of libido,
bowel disease and uro-genital or hormonal imbalances. At the
Centre, we see the body as an ecosystem with all the different
'systems' impacting and affecting each other. It is extremely
rewarding for us to unravel seemingly complex health complaints
and find systematic and structured solutions. It is very frequently
life changing and there can be no greater reward for a practitioner
than to participate in this process."

 |
Sally Gole first
obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (UNSW) in 1995 which led her
to over a decade of work in the corporate field producing Corporate
Events before completely changing direction and studying Traditional
Chinese Medicine. This change in direction came about as a result
of her own very personal experiences and lessons in the corporate
world and the impact of the long hours and stress on her health.
As a result, Sally understands the demands of corporate life
and is keen to work with individuals to help them manage the
balance of work and life. After another five years of study
with a three month clinical internship at Nanjing University
Hospital (China), Sally obtained an Advanced Diploma in Traditional
Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine).
With this corporate background and training in Chinese Medicine,
Sally is now a valuable part of the Fertility Health Team. She
has a keen interest in providing a high standard of treatment
and support for couples trying to conceive. Her particular passion
and area of expertise is Women’s Health and she strongly
believes that Traditional Chinese Medicine can play an important
role in treating many conditions including female infertility,
miscarriage prevention, stress, anxiety and chronic illness.
Sally combines her knowledge of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal
Medicine to develop a treatment plan that is individually tailored
to each patient. Using a combination of Traditional Chinese
Medicine, relaxation techniques and nutritional therapy, Sally’s
treatments can help increase fertility, immunity, vitality and
general wellbeing. As with all practitioners at the Centre,
Sally uses a gentle Japanese needle technique. |
