Our Research
Our Director, Jann Mehmet, has worked as a Chinese Medicine (CM) practitioner for over three decades and in 2006 Jann conducted a clinical trial on sub fertile men. (see Our Research) This small pilot study, part of her Master in Science (by research) degree work, at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), showed clinically and statistically significant improvements in morphology and motility in moderately sub fertile men as well as clinically significant improvements in count after 8 weeks of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. This small study provides encouragement for continued research in this field with larger randomized clinical trials (RCT’s).

About Our Services
Our team provide acupuncture using both Chinese Medicine and Japanese acupuncture techniques. This involves light palpation on the abdomen and observation of the tongue and the pulse followed by a light needle technique. See also New to Chinese Medicine.

Traditional Chinese Medicine skills of tongue, pulse and Hara diagnosis are provided at our centre. For your first appointment, the session lasts for 1 1/2 hours, which allows us time to discuss your medical history and best evidence in the field.

The acupuncture part of your session takes around 30 minutes, and during this time, you rest and relax in a comfortable and quiet room. For more detailed information see also FAQs, and Our Team.
