Acupuncture for IVF support is one of the most studied applications of acupuncture in reproductive medicine. Our practitioner Maria Cappello has personal experience with IVF and unexplained infertility. She understands this process from the inside, not just clinically.
Research supports acupuncture at multiple stages of the IVF cycle. Treatment before egg collection aims to support ovarian response and reduce the side effects of stimulation medication. Some studies suggest acupuncture around the time of embryo transfer may support uterine blood flow and implantation outcomes. Between cycles, treatment focuses on recovery, hormonal rebalancing, and emotional support.
What to expect from our IVF protocol: treatment ideally begins 6–8 weeks before egg collection. That preparation phase typically involves weekly sessions (6–8 sessions) focused on cycle regulation, stress reduction, and supporting follicular development. Around transfer, we schedule a session the day before or day of. During the two-week wait, weekly sessions continue to address anxiety, sleep, and progesterone support. A full IVF support program runs approximately 12–16 sessions across your cycle. The cost for a full program is typically $1,200–$1,600 depending on your specific cycle length and needs.
Maria is available on Sundays for IVF transfers and can arrange appointments outside regular clinic hours to accommodate your monitoring and transfer schedule. We coordinate with your fertility clinic and work within their protocols, and we do not ask you to change or delay any aspect of your medical treatment.
