IVF can be physically demanding, tightly scheduled and emotionally consuming. Our role is to provide a consistent place where the focus returns to you: how you are feeling, which concerns are appropriate to address, and what would make this stage more manageable.

Patients commonly ask for support with concerns such as bloating, headaches, fatigue, muscular tension, cycle symptoms and the stress of appointments and waiting. At every stage we distinguish concerns suitable for complementary care from symptoms that need your fertility clinic. Your specialist leads the stimulation, collection, transfer and medication protocol, and we work within it.

There is no compulsory IVF package. Some people begin before a cycle, some book during stimulation, and others want an appointment on the day before or day of transfer. During the two-week wait or between cycles, you can continue only if the care is useful to you. We agree on an initial plan around your concerns, schedule and budget, then review it rather than assuming a fixed number of visits.

Fees are $170 for an initial 90-minute consultation, including your first treatment, and $100 for follow-ups. If your private health extras cover includes acupuncture, rebates can be claimed on the spot via HICAPS. Medicare does not cover Chinese medicine treatment, and herbs and supplements are charged separately.

Maria is available on Sundays for IVF transfers and can arrange appointments outside regular clinic hours where possible. Please tell your specialist you are having acupuncture, and tell us about medication, a bleeding disorder, herbal medicine or a possible pregnancy before treatment. Maria came to Chinese medicine through her own experience of unexplained infertility and IVF, and understands the monitoring, changing dates and two-week waits from the inside.

Research has not established that acupuncture increases IVF pregnancy or live-birth rates, so we do not offer it as a way to buy better odds. Our acupuncture and IVF guide at /acupuncture-and-ivf explains the evidence, safety and practical choices in detail.

Questions before booking

Safety, comfort and frequency

Safety and discomfort

Tell us about all medication, supplements, bleeding disorders, ovarian hyperstimulation symptoms and possible pregnancy. New or worsening symptoms during stimulation should be reported promptly to your fertility clinic. Acupuncture can cause temporary tenderness, bruising, tiredness or light-headedness.

Treatment frequency

There is no compulsory IVF package. Appointments are arranged around your preferences, clinic schedule and changing IVF dates, with clear review points rather than a promised number of visits.

Research has not established that acupuncture increases IVF pregnancy or live-birth rates. We offer it as optional supportive care for concerns that can be reviewed in their own right, not as a way to buy better odds.
Where possible, appointments can be arranged on the day before or day of transfer, including Sunday or outside regular hours by arrangement. Call or text when your fertility clinic confirms timing.
Yes. Keep your specialist informed and tell us about your full medication and supplement list, any bleeding disorder, new symptoms and the possibility of pregnancy.
