Tuina Massage

Tuina (pronounced 'tway-nah') is a form of Chinese therapeutic bodywork that has been practiced for over 2,000 years. Unlike relaxation massage, Tuina is a clinical modality that uses specific hand techniques on acupuncture meridians and points to directly influence the flow of qi and blood in the body.

At Rozelle Acupuncture, Tuina is frequently used in combination with acupuncture and other Chinese Medicine modalities to enhance treatment outcomes. It is particularly effective for musculoskeletal conditions, neck and back pain, shoulder tension, headaches, and digestive disorders.

Common Tuina techniques include palpation, manipulation, rolling, kneading, pressing, and stretching, each selected based on the presenting condition and the patient's constitution. The intensity can be adjusted from gentle to firm based on your needs and preferences.

Tuina is suitable for all ages and can be particularly helpful for patients who are not comfortable with acupuncture needles, providing an effective alternative pathway to the same therapeutic goals.
