Our First Consultation Explained

Duration: 1 ½ hours with our professional team.

Process:

  1. Health History Documentation:
    Initially, we document your comprehensive health history.
  2. Assessment:
    Next, we assess your condition using Chinese Medicine diagnostic techniques, which will be thoroughly explained to you.
  3. Acupuncture Treatment:
    During the last half-hour, you will receive acupuncture treatment using fine, disposable needles.
  4. Chinese Herbal Remedies:
    Additionally, we may prescribe Chinese herbal remedies if deemed necessary.

Preparing for Your First Appointment

What to Bring:

  • Relevant medical reports, scans, and blood test results.
  • Contact details of your GP and any relevant medical records. (A referral is not needed but is useful for integrated care.)

Fees and Health Insurance

  • Consultation Duration and Fees:
    The first session is 1.5 hours long, and subsequent sessions are 1 hour each.
  • Fees:

  • Health Fund Rebates:
    Rebates are available for acupuncture with most health funds. Please note that no rebates are available for Chinese herbs and vitamin supplements.
  • Payment Options:
    HICAPS EFTPOS is available for immediate health fund rebates.
  • Medicare:
    Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover Chinese Medicine.

Cancellation Policy

  • Notice Requirement:
    We require a 24-hour advance notice for any changes or cancellations. Otherwise, the appointment fee may be charged.

Our clinic is conveniently located just 12 minutes from the CBD by bus or car.

Public Transport:

  • Direct Bus Service:
    Yes, there is a direct bus departing from QVB, York St, Stand B, and arriving at Robert St At Crescent St. Services depart every five minutes and operate every day.

Parking:

  • Paid Street Parking:
    Available in front of the clinic and on nearby streets.
  • Free Parking:
    Unlimited free parking is available a couple of blocks away on Darling Street towards Lilyfield.
