Elleni Woods

Elleni WoodsElleni graduated from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) with a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).

Elleni has completed further study at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China where her focus was in Gynaecology and Paediatrics.  She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Sydney majoring in Biological Sciences.

Elleni’s journey into Eastern medicine began during a quest for better health where she discovered a love of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.

Elleni strives to grow on a personal and professional level through attending Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine conferences to learn from influential master practitioners, and in 2018 Elleni completed a postgraduate program in the Labour and Delivery Unit at NYU Langone Health Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, where she attended vaginal births and provided acupressure and tui-na to patients as part of an Acupuncture team which collaborated with nursing and medical staff to investigate the potential for symptom relief throughout labour, delivery and postpartum. She also had the opportunity to observe caesarean sections, administration of epidurals and induction of labour.

Earlier in 2018, Elleni attended San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, Mexico, where she trained modern and Mayan traditional midwives in Acupuncture. This experience has enhanced her skills and fueled her interest in traditional medicines and cultures from around the world.

Elleni is committed to the principles of Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in their traditional and holistic forms. She endorses empowering clients to be involved in all evidenced based strategies to improve their health and works collaboratively with medical providers to complement their care.
